A space where your mind can settle, and your next steps feel clearer.

Evidence-based therapy for anxiety, stress and emotional overwhelm.

I work with young people (14+) and adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck or burnt out. Together we make sense of what’s going on, build practical tools, and create space for you to move towards the life you want – with more steadiness and self-understanding.

Medicare rebates available.

About Me

Hi, I’m Kiran — an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with a multicultural background and a warm, grounded approach to therapy.

For over a decade, I’ve supported young people and adults through anxiety, overwhelm, trauma, ADHD, cultural or family pressures, and big life transitions.

My work has taken me across youth mental health, refugee support services, crisis hotlines, and even into founding a skateboarding charity — all experiences that shaped how I understand resilience, identity, and the many ways people heal.

Alongside evidence-based therapy, I’m also trained in outdoor and experiential approaches. This can look like walk-and-talk sessions, creative or art-based practices, grounding or mindfulness strategies, gentle movement, adventure-based activities, or simply talking outdoors in a space that feels more comfortable than a room.

Every session is tailored to what you need on the day — we work at your pace, in ways that feel accessible, supportive, and aligned with who you are.

I offer telehealth sessions online and outdoor sessions on the southern Gold Coast, so you can choose the setting that feels most supportive.

What I Help With

I support young people (14+) and adults who are navigating:

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Emotional overwhelm

  • ADHD

  • Trauma

  • Burnout

  • Major life changes

  • Cultural and family pressures

  • Feeling stuck, lost or unsure how to move forward

You don’t need to have everything figured out — you just need a place to start.

How I Work (therapies + approach)

I use evidence-based approaches that help you understand what’s going on, steady your nervous system, and build practical tools you can use in everyday life.

My therapeutic toolkit includes:

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)-informed strategies

  • Somatic + grounding approaches — supporting your nervous system

  • Strengths-based + solution-focused frameworks

  • Outdoor + experiential therapy — nature-based sessions, movement, creative practices

We’ll tailor your sessions together so the approach fits who you are, not the other way around.

My Experience

Over the past decade, I’ve worked across clinical, community, and frontline mental health settings, including:

  • Senior Clinician & Group Facilitator at headspace (Gold Coast)

  • Co-designed and delivered the 12-week Youth in Power adventure therapy program, supporting over 60 young people across two years

  • Settlement Caseworker at SSI, supporting adult refugee clients with trauma, adjustment, and resettlement

  • Crisis Counsellor

  • Outdoor & Experiential Therapy Guide, facilitating surf therapy, bushwalking, adventure-based learning, and nature-based groups

  • Founder of Skate Mate, a youth skateboarding charity that promoted confidence, belonging, and mental wellbeing

How Medicare rebates work

If you have a current Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) and referral from your GP (or a psychiatrist/paediatrician), you can claim a Medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions per calendar year under the Better Access initiative.

Your referral does not have to be addressed to me specifically — as long as it is valid, you can use it with any therapist who holds a Medicare provider number.

If you’re unsure how to arrange an MHTP, I’m happy to guide you — it’s often a quick chat with your GP.

Private Health Insurance

Some private health funds offer rebates.
Coverage varies between insurers and policies, so it’s best to check directly with your fund.
(You can’t claim a Medicare rebate and a private health rebate for the same session.)

No referral needed

You’re very welcome to see me privately without a GP referral — your sessions simply won’t attract a Medicare rebate.

FAQ

Your first session is a space to slow down and get a clearer picture of what’s going on. We explore what you’re navigating, what you’d like support with, and what feels comfortable for you.
There’s no pressure to share everything — we go at your pace.

I offer a free 15-minute introductory call with everyone before we begin. This gives you a chance to get a feel for me and my approach, and it helps me understand whether I’m the right person to support you.

I work best with people who want to be here — not those attending because someone else is pushing them. Therapy is most effective when it’s collaborative. You’re human, you may feel vulnerable at times, and having trust in the process (and in me) really matters.

I’m here to support you in creating real change, and that works best when we’re both engaged in the process. You don’t need to have everything figured out — just a willingness to explore what’s coming up for you, at a pace that feels safe. We’ll take it step by step, together.

Everyone is different. Some people come for a few sessions to get clarity and tools, others stay longer for deeper ongoing support. We decide together what feels right — there’s no pressure or fixed timeline.

Outdoor sessions take place in private, comfortable locations on the southern Gold Coast.
Sessions can include walking, sitting, grounding exercises, creative practices, or simply talking across a picnic table.

Yes. Outdoor sessions are always held in private, quiet locations chosen specifically for confidentiality.
If we encounter someone you know, your privacy is always prioritised — you decide how we handle it, and we can pause or move as needed.

We can switch to an online session or find a sheltered option — whatever works best for you.

Outdoor sessions take place in the Southern end of Gold Coast.
We choose the area together based on privacy, accessibility, and comfort.

An Accredited Mental Health Social Worker is a social worker who has completed advanced postgraduate training and demonstrated expertise in mental health assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic intervention. We’re accredited by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and recognised by Medicare as specialist mental health clinicians.

In practice, this means I can provide evidence-based therapy under the Better Access initiative, and you can claim Medicare rebates with a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan. It also means you’re working with someone who meets strict professional, ethical, and ongoing training standards.

No. You can see me privately without a referral.
A Mental Health Treatment Plan simply gives you access to Medicare rebates for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

Yes. Your referral does not need to include my name.
As long as it’s valid and you have a Medicare provider number to claim against, you can use the plan with any Accredited Mental Health Social Worker or psychologist that has a medicare number.
